Grace is Truly Amazing

You know the song "Amazing Grace"?
Amazing Grace
how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost,
but now am found
Was blind but now I see.

For me, since I have turned my life over to the Lord, when I remain focused on Him, my life is filled with peace. When I had no faith, I saw the world differently. Now with faith, I see more evil and less good. I see temptation where before I saw nothing. When there is a deception, I listen to what God tells me and go find out for myself. I take no human's word for anything, because we humans are easily decieved. We have been told to 'test the spirits' and I take that to heart.

On the other hand, I see great beauty as well. I can see God vividly working in people even when they don't see it. It is like a person who never had their eyes checked thinking that what they saw was normal, then getting glasses and seeing so much more.I do not behave the way I do 'to get to some imaginary place.' Then my purpose would be 'to get to heaven.' That is not my purpose, my purpose is to love and serve God.

I do what I do because I love God, like a parent. I want Him to be proud of me, happy to be around me. I believe what I do because I can't believe any other way. I KNOW that God is here. For me, it is like explaining red to someone who has never seen, or explaining a symphony to someone who cannot hear. I know that God is with me, whether I see Him or not. Just like I know that Jesus died for me. I know that I disappoint Him sometimes, and that makes me try that much harder NOT to do that.
